happy breast cancer awareness month!

so as you all know, i work for the american cancer society.... sooo... it woud be silly of me not to make cupcakes for the start of breast cancer awareness month right?!? (which is tomorrow by the way... since its oct 1.)

so here are some of the pics of my awesome strawberry cupcakes w/pink buttercream frosting. i've been making a lot of buttercream lately, but i'm trying to perfect my recipe. this batch was super yummy. i prefer cream cheese frosting on strawberry, but i didnt have any cream cheese and was too lazy to go to the store to buy some. plus, a lot of people i work with don't like cream cheese anyways... crazy... i know...

last thursday (i think) i walked around taking pictures of some people in my office and got some quotes from a few about what they would tell someone about breast cancer awareness month. plus, we have 2 survivors in our office, so i wanted to make sure they were recognized as well.

better than ?? cupcakes!

mmm... so these are the cupcakes that i made tonight for our sweet treats silent auction tomorrow. hopefully someone will think they're absolutely adorable and pay tons & tons of money for them :)

these babies are essentially yellow cake, pineapple filling, vanilla custard, and then vanilla (w/a little bit of cream cheese... cuz i love cream cheese...) frosting. oh, & then a little yellow fondant star on top.

if i wasnt sick from eating so much batter... and then pineapples.... and then custard... and then frosting, i'd definitely eat one.

here's some pics of cupcakes that i made like a month ago or so... for absolutely no reason at all.
i bought some little "sour power" straws (mmm....) and wanted to make some cupcakes with them. so, i ended up making strawberry lemon/lime cupcakes.. they were yummy, and they looked super cute as well.

we're having a sweet treats silent auction at work on friday to help raise some $$, so i think i'm going to make Better Than ?? cupcakes. i thought the word "sex" was inappropriate. dontcha agree??

oh and i'm in the process of making some SUPER awesome cupcakes to bring on monday because its the start of breast cancer awareness month. (october is breast cancer awareness month... in case you didn't know... more info to come on that later!) it kinda stinks that i'm gonna be bringing cupcakes friday & monday... but it gives me stuff to do this weekend! (ha... did you actually think i was going to complain about making cupcakes??!?) i'll post pics hopefully soon of those... cuz you're gonna be soooooooo jealous :)

oh and i totally forgot that i sent pictures of aiden eating a cupcake to "cupcakestakethecake" and they totally posted them! wohoo!
